Team Taylor's Third on the Woodpecker
Team Taylor's David Pattrick (Sleaford) and Simon Ashton's (Sheffield) Championship season concluded at the weekend on the Tayhire Woodpecker Stages Rally with yet another award for a fine third in class.
The two-day Ludlow based event proved once more to be one of the country's most popular events with a capacity 180 car entry for 53 forest stage miles on the English/Welsh borders. Running in extremely hot weather conditions provided a few problems with poor visibility due to the dust but this failed to hamper the Team's first attempt at the Peugeot Sport Gold Star Championship with a solid run in their Peugeot 106 Rallye. With one round to run David has sealed third in the Championship class whilst Simon holds second and must wait to see if he can hold onto it.
At the front of the field, local hero Andy Burton dominated in his hybrid Peugeot 306 Cosworth to win by more than three minutes.
