Team Taylor's attacking drive
Team Taylors David Pattrick (Sleaford) and Simon Ashton (Sheffield) attacked the North Humberside stages with aplomb at the weekend to produce one of their most satisfying results to date.
Claiming third in class at the finish underestimated the teams performance - the pairing held second in class at the half way point only headed by a factory entered VW Polo. After maintaining the pressure throughout the afternoon and exploring the odd ditch along the way, the Peugeot 106 crew narrowly missed beating the reigning class Champion Les Allfrey by just 19 seconds after 45 miles of action on Scarborough's Olivers Mount motorcycle track and in the North Yorkshire forests.
At the head of the field, Warren Philliskirk won the event for the third time in a Metro 6R4,
Battle resumes mid-April on the Minehead based Somerset Stages - a new event for Team Taylor.
