Team Taylor second again

Team Taylor continued their run of consistency on Saturday with yet another second in class finish on the Quinton Stages Rally.

David Pattrick (Sleaford) and Simon Ashton (Sheffield) were quick out of the blocks by setting fastest time on the opening stage. However it all went wrong when they dropped 17 seconds on stage two. "We don't know what went wrong, everything seemed to be going fine then we saw Duncan's time and were astonished" commented Simon.

Duncan Williams and Mark Freeman eked out a few more seconds on the next two stages including the longest of the event, Bryncothi, where David and Simon were slowed slightly with a misfire. The two battling Peugeot's were now 23 seconds apart and Team Taylor upped the pace even more finishing just ten seconds shy after 45 hard stage miles.

"It's been a great battle, one of the closest of the season but the Championship's settled in Duncan and Mark's favour now, we'll have to try again next year!" Team Taylor finished 69th overall from 115 starters and are guaranteed second in the Championship with two rounds still to run.
