Team Taylor score a second
Sleaford's David Pattrick and Sheffield's Simon Ashton scored their second "second in class" of the year on Saturday's North Humberside Forest Stages.
The third round of the Peugeot Sport Gold Star Rally Championship was fought out in perfect weather conditions in the North York Moors Forests where Team Taylor consolidated their championship standings. Their production car class Peugeot 106 Rallye withstood a pounding to finish just 33 seconds off the class leader. This despite stalling on one stage, attacking a ditch on another and finally a wall of death act up a banking before setting fastest class time on the final stage of the 45 mile event. The pairing finished 60th out of 133 starters and picked up bonus awards from both Peugeot, for finishing third 106, and Dunlop.
Meanwhile at the top of the leader board, Warren Philliskirk took his Metro 6R4 to a slender eight-second victory over the Escort WRC of Brian Bell. The battle was even closer going into the final stage as Martyn Harrison's 6R4 split the pairing only to retire following an altercation with a log pile!
