Competition History

1992 - Ian's first Trial's ride on a Yamaha TY 80 on his way to winning two regional Class D Youth Championships.

In 1993 Ian retained his two titles and added the Julia Morris Memorial Series.

A change of machinery for 1994 to a Fantic 150, and class to the Under 14's (Class B) saw Ian retain the three titles.

Another change of machinery for 1995 saw a Gas-Gas 150 wheeled out but after a debut victory at the age of 15, career opportunities put a stop to Trials riding.

1996 - Spent Navigating on closed to Club road rallies and driving on an ANCC Production Car Trial, beating regulars at his first attempt.

1997 saw the first four-wheeled success with two outright Club Autotest victories.

1998 saw Ian build a Metro/Mini Autotest Special to take a very creditable 11th overall and 7th in class in the ANCC Championship.

First overall in the Wakefield & DMSC Clubmen's Championship.

Ian contested his first stage rally claiming 37th overall and fourth in class quickly followed by an incredible 11th overall and class victory on only his second outing. Ian's Forest rallying debut saw the success continue with a 2nd in class placing.

1999 and Ian is attempting three local Stage Rally Championships. The main focus being on the Ti Rallyschool Northern Stage Rally Championship and Phoenix Awards North East Midlands Stage Rally Championship where five top three class positions (including three victories) leave the youngster way out in front in both. Ian also lies second in class in the Roadrunner East Midlands Series despite contesting only a limited number of rounds.
