The car that we pilot is a Group N (Standard Production car class) Peugeot 106 Rallye.
Built by Peugeot as an Homologation Special (i.e. intended to be adapted for use in motorsport), the car in standard trim lacks creature comforts such as electric windows and a sunroof and any unnecessary items which may add weight and hence slow the car down.
For Rallying we have to add safety items such as the roll cage, fire extinguishers, bucket seats and full harnesses. We are then able to modify the suspension to take the pounding that the rough roads hand out but otherwise the car is standard.
We run in class N1 which is for cars up to 1400cc.
